The popcorn stitch can be worked with any number of double crochet stitches, creating thinner or fatter popcorns.

Work a double crochet into the space or stitch indicated (photo 1)

Work four more double crochet stitches into the same space or stitch (photo 2)

Remove hook from working loop. Insert hook from front to back into the top loops of the first double crochet made, then through the working loop—2 loops on hook (photo 3)
