Free Crochet Scarf Pattern: Join the Colorplay Challenge

My coworkers would all cheerfully point out that I am addicted the cotton yarn. Invite me into a yarn shop, and I will gravitate to the skeins of crisp, shiny cotton. And despite the
2 ½ bins of cotton yarn at my house, I can always use more. At least that's what I tell myself whenever I come home with another skein.

I think cotton is an oft underused fiber. Most people do not think of cotton when they are debating yarn choices for a scarf, but I love the drape and durability for Spring scarves.

So give cotton scarves a try. Tahki Yarns is sponsoring a scarf contest. Scarves will be divided into the categories of crochet scarves and knit scarves. Kristin Omdahl has designed both a knit scarf and a crochet scarf for the contest. Or you can design your own scarf, using at least four colors of Tahki Cotton Classic or Tahki Cotton Classic Lite and measuring 6" wide and 52" long.

Load an image of your scarf to the knit or crochet gallery and vote for your favorite scarves. The winner of each category will receive 40 skeins Cotton Classic or Cotton Classic Lite, a prize valued at over $250. For a full list of rules and galleries visit the rules page. And for each entry posted for the COLORPLAY Reader Challenge, Tahki Stacy Charles will make a donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, to help eradicate *** cancer.

I'm eager to join in on the fun. I've begun the Piper's Chain Scarf in four fun colors of Tahki Cotton Classic. We can't wait to see   your cotton scarves.

Best wishes,
