Favorite Crochet Tops for Spring and Summer

Have you ever crocheted a pullover or sweater? Many of you have expressed your interest in crochet tops, and many of your favorites are perfect for spring.

For a spring or summer top, you want a fabric that breathes, and that makes crochet perfect. Not only do the "normal" stitches used in crochet, such as single and double crochet, create a fabric that has beautiful drape and inherent spaces between the stitches, but crochet is the ideal craft for creating lace.

Crochet lace makes a stunning all-over fabric to layer over a t-shirt or tank. It is also makes a beautiful trim.

Let's look at a few of you're the tops that are popular right now. I was surprised at the number of short-sleeve pullovers that were among your favorites. Several of my favorites are on this list as well. There is everything from Tunisian crochet to gorgeous crochet ribbing to unusual constructions and more.

Best wishes,

P.S. What details do you look for in a summer top?
