End the Winter with a Little Baby Crochet

Like many states in the United States, we are just coming out of a late winter snow storm. Ice and slush coat the roads, and I want to huddle up next to the fire with a warm afghan (crocheted of course) and my next crochet project—a cotton crochet blanket. Yes, it is 25 degrees Fahrenheit outside, and I am crocheting with spring-weight cotton. But it is time to start on baby gifts for an upcoming group of little ones set to make their appearances beginning in April. Here are a few great gift ideas for springtime babies, and they are all in Robyn Chachula's Baby Blueprint Crochet: Irresistible Projects for Little Ones.

The Popsicle Boots are perfect for a girl or boy, can be made in sizes to fit newborn to 24 months, and are simple enough to make quickly but innovative enough to keep you intrigued. Unlike most crochet booties, these colorful boots are built on a faux leather sole that provides additional structure and grip for little walkers.
Robot Burt is the perfect retro amigurumi! He is also perfect for any baby. His arms and legs are perfect for grabbing, and his soft body is ideal for cuddling with. Dive into your stash of yarn; this little guy is a great stash buster. Originally worked in worsted weight acrylic and standing nine inches tall, you can easily substitute a lighter or heavier weight yarn for a tiny robot or a giant robot. That is part of the fun of amigurumi.
The Kyla Mod Stroller Blanket is another great stash buster. This lacy crochet baby blanket is comprised of twenty-three blocks in three stitch patterns. The original patterns calls for five colors, but go ahead and have fun with your own color scheme. Because this dainty blanket is worked in lacy blocks, it works up quickly and is perfect for the warmer months of summer.

This is one of my favorite go-to books for baby shower gifts. There are eight garments and a variety of booties, blankets, bibs, amigurumi, and more. You will find the perfect gift for anyone on your list. Download or order Baby Blueprint Crochet: Irresistible Projects for Little Ones today and end the winter with a little springtime crochet.

Best wishes,

P.S. What is your favorite spring crochet baby project?
