Editors’ Favorites: Best Crochet Patterns from 2022

It’s been an exciting year for crocheters! As we look ahead towards a new year of crochet patterns and projects, it’s always fun to look back and reflect on which designs stood out as our favorites in the last 12 months. Looking at the list of best-selling Interweave crochet patterns of 2022, we’re picking our favorites and sharing what we love about each one. With so many stitch techniques, yarn fibers, and colorful thread hues to choose from, it can be hard to pick a project.

It’s been a long time since I’ve crocheted. I find myself dreaming of the crochet rhythm and see myself with hook in hand, so know it’s something I will pick up again, soon. The Boho Block Cardigan entices me and seems challenging but manageable enough. It would be wonderful to have this to wear and another or three to gift!

I’m with Tammy on this one! This is a classic design that has definitely come around again in its appeal. I’m so excited to make this in an updated colorway and pair it with some modern denim. I love the simple, boxy silhouette and the fringe!

Content Manager, Kerry Bogert’s Pick: Yesteryear Top

My favorite from the best-selling patterns of 2022 is the Yesteryear Top, but not for myself. I want that make this gorgeous top for my daughter. I love how I can easily customize the length to suite her frame. And I think she will love the circular yoke and lacey look.

Technical Content Editor, Sandi Rosner’s Pick: Verdant Vista Top

I like the Verdant Vista Top. It has just enough texture to make an interesting fabric, without demanding to be the center of attention. With its boat neck and cap sleeves, this top would be a warm-weather workhorse in my wardrobe.

Editorial Coordinator, Gabby Axner’s Pick: Jade Dress

I have been getting more and more into crochet dresses recently and the Jade Dress that caught my eye. I love how the butterfly sleeves and shell stitches give off a vintage feel without feeling dated!
