Spring Awaits: Echo Park Infinity Scarf
Vickie Howell’s Echo Park Infinity Scarf will get you in the mood for spring!
I always experience the winter blues in January and February. The fun holidays are over and the many inches of snow and plunging temperatures make me want to cuddle up in my house with my massive yarn stash and never leave.
My solution to avoiding the grey and frozen outside is to stay inside and make something fun, crazy, and bright! The things I make really help brighten any drab and dull winter days. For inspiration on bright colors to wear this year, I’m looking to Pantone’s color trends—a selection of ten trending colors released annually. The ten colors they have chosen for the spring are exactly what I need to lift me out of my mid-winter rut. My favorite colors from this palette are Pink Yarrow and Greenery (Pantone’s color of the year). I can’t wait to make something in these bright colors to carry me into spring.
Luckily, we have some awesome crochet kits from Vickie Howell that capture the spirit of this bright palette. The Echo Park Crochet Infinity Scarf features HiKoo Kenzington yarn (distributed by Skacel) in two bright color options: boysenberry or elegan.
These colors are just what you need to get you excited for spring! Kenzington is a chunky-weight yarn that blends New Zealand merino, nylon, alpaca, and silk noils. The chainette structure makes it so much more fun to work with than your typical chunky yarn; it works up fast and will keep you warm while you wait for the sun to return. Pair this cool yarn with Vickie Howell’s stylish crochet designs and you have a design that’s fun to make and easy to wear.
The Echo Park Infinity Scarf is my go-to on dreary days. How about you? What bright projects are you working on to get you through the winter?
