Easy mulitpurpose scrubber
Hereâs a quick and easy doubleâsided scrubber that can be used for cleaning anywhere from the kitchen to the garage! Soft but durable cotton yarn on one side, and a tough nylon yarn on the other that wonât scratch nonâstick surfaces, chrome bumpers or bathtubsâ¦howâs that for multitasking!
Easy to customize, make it larger by using a bigger hook or by adding to your foundation chain and increasing the number of rows.
⢠I used a 4mm hook/size G6
⢠Small amounts of cotton and nylon yarn â I used Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (medium/4) and Needloft 2 ply Plastic Canvas Yarn.
My completed scrubber is about 3.5 by 4.25 in, or about 9 by 11 cm.
Not important for this project.
To clean, machine wash in cold water with a mild detergent; air dry only! (Iâm not sure what nylon yarn does in the dryer, but itâs probably not pretty!)
Row 1: with nylon yarn, ch 15. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across to starting ch. (14 sc)
Row 2: ch 1, turn. Working in back loops, sc across. (14 sc)
Rows 3 â 10: repeat row 2. Fasten off and weave ends in.
With cotton yarn, repeat rows 1 to 10. Do not fasten off. Ch 1, turn.
Holding both pieces together (there is no right or wrong side), and working through both layers, sc in first st and across to first corner; work 3 sc in corner and sc evenly across ends of rows. Repeat around, ending with 3sc in last corner and sl st to first sc. If youâd like to add a hanging loop, after 3sc in corner, ch 10, and sl st to first sc.
Finish off and weave ends in.
