Early April Eye Candy

There's snow in the northeast and here it's grey and rainy. So let's cheer ourselves up a bit, shall we? Some lovely crochet should do just that. Here are some things I've stumbled onto recently.

For her Biodiversity Reclamation Suits for Urban Pigeons series, artist Laurel Roth crochets suits for pigeons, disguising them as extinct birds. It's lovely. And some of her work is disturbing, in all the ways I love it when art makes me think.

Speaking of artists, Emily Barletta (I loved featuring her work in Interweave Crochet a few years ago), has work in a group show at FiveMyles in Brooklyn, through May 8th. If you make it to the show, let me know what you think!

Tumblr arjeloops crocheted this Harry Potter doll. Which may be the awesomest crocheted Harry Potter doll I've seen.

I just love the colours in this photo by Loretta Grayson on Flickr.
