Crochet Pattern of the Week: Rhythmite Pullover

Have you been on the lookout for a special kind of crochet sweater pattern this season? One that allows you to savor the project from yarn selection to the fiftieth wear? Might I recommend Natasha Robarge’s supremely wearable Rhythmite Pullover? It’s a gorgeous, light, and airy design that you won’t be able to stop stitching . . . or wearing! Our new digital-only publication, The Crochetist, is full of those kinds of crochet designs: simple to stitch, luxurious to the touch, and easy to mix into your wardrobe.

Many crochet sweaters suffer from being too stiff or heavy, but the airiness and drape of this pullover come from a semi-lace ribbed stitch pattern. The fabric opens up when worn, lending flattering curves to the drop-shoulder design. Roomy side slits also help ensure you’re always feeling comfy when wearing this sweater, whether at the office or curled up on the couch.

The Rhythmite Pullover The Crochetist

A big part of the magic is also in the yarn. FibraNatura Dona, distributed by Universal Yarn, is an Italian-style 100% superwash merino DK-weight yarn with high twist and smooth texture that makes it perfect for garments. With tons of colors to choose from, you’re sure to find one that’s just right!

The body of the pullover is worked side to side, so all sizes are the same length from the front hem over the shoulder to the back hem, with bust sizing determined based on the number of rows worked. The drop-shoulder silhouette makes for easy stitching, and a clever technique prevents the drop shoulders from stretching out too much. Natasha has thought of everything to make this fun to crochet and incredible to wear!
