Fall Blanket vs Summer Blanket: A Crochet Blanket for Every Season

The other night it was almost cold enough to freeze, and it’s not even fall yet! I can’t wait to be curled up on the couch snug in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate. Yep, it’s about time to swap my summer crochet blanket for my fall crochet blanket.

How does a summer blanket differ from a fall blanket you ask? Perhaps you don’t have a blanket pattern for every season, but I’m one of those people who can’t sleep without a blanket, even on a hot summer evening. So I am always on the lookout for a new blanket pattern.

Summer Crochet Blankets

Whether you want a light blanket for the occasional chill in the evening or you, like me, can’t sleep without the weight of a blanket, it can be difficult to find the perfect blanket. But when you find a summer blanket, it’s always a beautiful lace. Just look at the Damask Afghan, Filet Zigs and Zags, Moroccan Tile Blanket and Exploded Pineapple Afghan. Crocheted in luxuriously soft Bijou yarn or cool acrylic, these lace blankets are not only just the right amount of coverage but they look stunning on the back of the couch.

Fall and Spring could bring t-shirt and shorts weather or you might have to pull out your flannel and wool. So how do you pick the perfect crochet blanket? Motif patterns are my go-to. Winter Blankets

Which blanket do you reach for when the wind is howling and the snow is piling up in front of the door?
