Crafters’ Blog Hop: Crochet is the Best!

I hope you are enjoying celebrating National Craft Month. I love any holiday you get an excuse to celebrate for an entire month. And if it can involve yarn and my crochet hooks even better! At the beginning of the month, several of my fellow online editors and I were waxing poetic about our own craft. Every one of us thinks our hobby is the best, but many of us dabble in other crafts—though most of mine still involve fiber.

Rapunzel ScarfWe decided to create our own blog hop and share each of our favorite crafts. After reading why I think crochet is the best—and you all agree with me right—hop to the end of the post for great trips to the worlds of beading, quilting, knitting, embroidery, and more.
Today as I was writing this post to celebrate National Craft Month, I was contemplating what made crochet special. What drew me to crochet?

As I worked on my Rapunzel Scarf (at left), which is created by cleverly braiding chunky crocheted strands, it came to me. I love the creativity. When you are crocheting, you can insert the hook in a stitch several rows below, around the post, in one loop, the possibilities are endless. Because you only have on loop on your hook, you can manipulate the project in so many incredible ways. Yes, it is the creative possibilities that I love about crochet.

Explore creativity with yarn and hood and check out some of our free crochet patterns. Enjoy!

Best wishes,

P.S. I’d love to hear why you are drawn to crochet. Share your thoughts in the comments.
