Cozy Up with Crochet Socks, Slippers & More

It was under 50 degrees when I woke up the other morning. I couldn’t believe it; the floor was cold!  I guess Fall really is on its way, and you know what that means? Crochet socks! Crochet slippers! Crochet leg warmers! I love the coziness of crochet foot accessories.

Crochet Socks

First we have crochet socks. I remember the first time I saw a pair of crocheted socks, the tapestry crochet Troubadour Socks. They are gorgeous, and I am always sad when I have to put my shoes on and cover up the stitches.

Crochet socks come in all different stitches. You can make lace ones like the Chablis Socks or cable ones like the Birch Cable Socks. Play with color with the Honeycomb Socks or the Red Twig Knee Socks (hint: they don’t have to be red). Add a few pairs of crochet socks to your wardrobe, and you will never want to hide your socks with shoes again! If I could give you one hint about crocheting socks, it would be to choose a yarn with a lot of elasticity. You need to be able to get your socks over your heels, and you don’t want them to grow over time.

Crochet Slippers

Cold floors, cozy evenings curled up in your favorite chair with your latest crochet projects . . . make sure you have a pair of crochet slippers on your feet. The thicker stitches of crochet make a comfy sole and provide extra warmth. Speaking of warmth, the Uber Warm Slippers, with two layers of crochet and a foam sole, are perfect for cold climates like where I live. But if you live in a warmer climate and love the look of motif slippers, I love the Ella Slippers too.

The Patagonia Slipper Socks are next on my to-crochet list. These cable crochet slippers have fluffy cuffs, pompoms, and a sewn-on bottom, which means you can wear these slippers when you run outside to get that new skein of yarn in the mail.

Crochet Leg Warmers

They don’t cover your feet, but Fall is not complete without leg warmers and boot toppers. The Cloudstrider Spats have a fun steampunk vibe, and I love the buckles and snaps. And the Zigzag Leg Warmers look great with a skirt or sweater dress.
