Common Sense

It's come to our attention that there may be some concern about the safety of using the Coffee Hotplate Doily we just published as our mid-issue bonus pattern. It hadn't occurred to us to be concerned about your safety when we accepted this pattern for publication, because we assume that you will use common sense when working your coffee maker.

But just in case: Please use common sense when working your coffee maker! If you make a doily out of any flammable or meltable materials, do not place it on the heating element.

We hope you're all saying, "Duh" right now.

Also, the doily would make a lovely trivet.

Happy 4th of July to all you Americans out there!
