We’re so excited to be celebrating 15 years of Interweave Crochet. I’m a relatively new addition to the team, so I thought it would be fun to dig through the archives and pull together some stats for you regarding what we’ve accomplished over the past 15 years:
- 64 issues published, including 6 special issues
- More than 1,470 patterns from over 300 talented designers
- More than 850 different yarns used
So much love and effort have gone into this magazine since its inception, and I want to thank everyone who has worked to build this community over the years, including you, dear reader. We wouldn’t be here without you. That said, it’s time to celebrate, and in this issue, we’re doing just that. Find our tips for throwing the ultimate crochet party (stitch-marker confetti is my new favorite thing).
And, if you’re here for the patterns, fear not. Our “Down to Earth” collection features tops and shawls that will add a touch of elegance to all your outdoor adventures. From the light and lacy details of the Taking Root Pullover to the cape-like sleeves of the Thistledown Top, the projects in this collection are worthy of celebration.
I was at a bit of a loss as to how to unite the bag and blanket patterns in our second collection—to be honest, they weren’t intended to be grouped together. But there are page counts to be met, and after some shuffling, they ended up together. Seeing everything laid out, it suddenly made sense. Bags and blankets are such iconic crochet projects, so of course they would share the limelight here—each project is an instant classic.
Here’s to another 15 years!
