Blue Chai Cardi

This sweater/cardi was made from the Interweave Crochet Fall 2011 Issue.  It's called Green Chai Cardi by Jill Hanratty and is found on page 25.  I made the size 45 and I actually used a broomstick handle to do the lace.  I chose to used  Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool which is 80% wool and 20% Silk.  It was the first time I ever did the broomstick lace stitch.  It was surprisingly easy.  I really like the look that the broomstick lace gave to the sweater/cardi.  This was a gift for my neice for Christmas.  She absolutely loves it.

I, like many other readers, really loved all the projects you chose for the fall issue.   I am also working on the Lace Canopy Cardi Wrap found on page 40 of the Fall 2011 Issue.  I have just started it and am using a fingerweight yarn made in Scotland.  I'm looking forward to completing it to show you.  This Fall Issue has so many wonderful patterns.  You've made crocheted items beautifu, more modern looking and designed for people to want to wear.  Please keep up the great work.  I've already purchased the Winter 2011 Issue and love the wraps/stoles that are shown in this issue.  So many things I want to make.  My 'to do' list just got larger.  I can't wait to see your next issue at my favorite yarn shop, my home away from home.  Thank you for doing such a fabulous job.
