Aperture Scarf

This little neck wrap packs a lot of possibilities. Wear it as an ascot, as shown here; make it longer and it becomes a fabulous warm-weather scarf; seam it shut and you have a fabulous cowl. Plus, this project works up in a few hours so it’s perfect as a last-minute go-to gift pattern.

FINISHED SIZE: 35″ long × 5″ wide (89 × 12.5 cm) after blocking. Motif: 5″ (12.5 cm) in diameter.

YARN: DK weight (#3 Light) Shown here: Zitron Patina (55% merino wool, 45% rayon; 120 yd [110m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): #5013 charcoal (MC); #5029 watermelon (CC), 1 ball each. Yarn distributed by Skacel Collection, Inc.

HOOK: Size G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

NOTIONS: Yarn needle.

GAUGE: 1 pattern rep = 2½” (6.5 cm). 7 pattern rows = 4″ (10 cm) in Pattern Stitch, blocked.
