A Special Preview Just for You

I have been on pins and needles for the last week. Does anyone else get this excited while they are waiting for the next issue of Interweave Crochet? What new techniques or incredible pattern constructions will I find? I love the photography; it is inspiring.

I'm excited to be able to share an early preview of some of the amazing projects in Interweave Crochet 2014. Here is the editor, Marcy Smith, to tell you a little more about this issue.

Round about the time the Winter Olympics were on, we began proofing patterns for this issue.

For each issue patterns go through rigorous editing by technical editors, and then the Interweave Crochet team reviews each pattern at least three times. On the first round, I set about proofing the Scout Bag by Donna Childs. Two days later, I had a finished bag. Next I proofed the Scamp Bandanna by April Garwood. Within two hours, I had a bandanna (and promptly made two more). It's like that. These patterns, and interplay of stitches and open space, are truly addictive.

Balancing these immediate-gratification projects are more intense projects, including the Wonder Wheel Top by Jenny King (which whirls out to an astounding 516 double crochets!) and the Eolande Shawlette by Kathryn White, a spectacular garment that will have you rethinking what you thought you knew about filet crochet.

In between are projects that fall along a spectrum of concentration levels. Explore half a dozen types of crochet lace in our Faerie Lace story. Work up garments designed for fun in our Summer Days story. And takea walk on the wild size in our Glam Camp story.
