Spring 2015 Jewelry Stringing Guidelines Posted!

Can you believe it's time to start thinking ahead to Spring 2015? While we still have the holidays ahead of us, it's nice to have the thought of fresh spring jewelry on our minds! We can't wait to introduce our Spring 2015 Jewelry Stringing themes and guidelines to you!

La Vie en Rose

Our favorite spring/summer fashion trend for 2015, by far, is La Vie en Rose. Literally translated to “a rosy tint on life,” the message here is pretty, feminine, and romantic. While we’re looking for pieces that use stringing and/or basic wireworking techniques, designs in this collection can also incorporate ribbon or fabric in some manner to add an airy, flowing look. Think of the prettiest garden-party dresses you’ve seen in dreamy florals and feminine ruffles then translate that to your jewelry design. This sweet palette consists of rosy hues and pretty pastels—baby pink, dark blush, lavender, pale lime green, and dusty purple.

Just as fundamental pieces of a wardrobe can be dressed up or dressed down, jewelry made with interchangeable components allows for different looks. Change out the elements to fit your mood or to match a specific outfit. Examples of this type of jewelry include two bracelets that can be hooked together to form a necklace; one bracelet and one necklace that can be joined to create a longer necklace; a long chain necklace with removable charms or pendants in front; a necklace made with connectors and removable strands, allowing it to be worn as a one-, two-, or three-strand necklace. This palette’s vibrant chartreuse and bright raspberry hues are offset by suede gray, dusty blue, and dark charcoal.

Peaches & Cream

Blossoming trees gloriously represent springtime and hint at the fruit to come. In celebration of spring, we ask you to design with these warm, velvety colors that lend themselves to fun and sprightly designs. Color clearly takes center stage in this category—light-to-medium hues of peach and coral are rounded out by a warm cream color.

Leather + Metal

Leather jewelry continues to be on trend, and we’re captivated by the look that results from combining leather with bold metal components. We are looking for jewelry that successfully displays the juxtaposition of soft, warm leather or suede and cool, hard metal components. While leather and metal will play a big role in the designs for this category, consider adding a splash of color with beads or charms for added interest. Submissions may include a stand-alone necklace, a necklace/bracelet set, or a set of two or more leather cuffs (to be worn alone or as a stacked set).
