Show Us Your Best Beginner Beading Projects and Win!

My very first beading project: a peyote stitch amulet bag

kumihimo with beads, Jill Wiseman, kumihimo ropes, beaded ropesDo you remember your first beading project? The one that you made when you were first learning how to bead? I do: it was a peyote stitch amulet bag with a bugle bead chain. I don’t wear it much anymore because the thread that I used for the strap is wearing thin, but I remember how I fell completely in love with bead-weaving while I made this little bag at my dining room table.

Because we love beginner beading projects, we want to showcase the best ideas from our readers! Do you have a great beading project for someone who’s just learning how to bead? Write up your beginner beading project tutorial, post it on your blog before March 25, 2014, and then upload it to our Beading For Beginners Gallery, and you could win a copy of Jill Wiseman’s new Kumihimo With Beads DVD.

When you submit your project to our Beading For Beginners Gallery, give us two or three sentences for each of the following questions:

  1. What was the inspiration for your submitted design/pattern/project?
  2. Was the design process smooth, or did you run into any design bumps along the road?
  3. What was the most valuable lesson you learned along the way?
  4. What materials and supplies are required to complete this design/pattern/project? (Make sure you include a full material and supply list so that others can try their hand at your Beading For Beginners design!)

Oh, and did I mention that we have a special guest judge on our panel? Yep, Jill Wiseman will be helping us make our selections from all the entries submitted! You can enter as many times as you’d like, but each entry must be uploaded into the contest gallery.

So dig through your stash, and start stringing your beads. Let’s see your best beginner beader projects!

Bead Happy,
