Bead of the Week: Pip Beads

#BOTW

I am completely infatuated with these cool little Pip beads!
Pip Beads, shaped bead, Czech pressed glass bead

It’s no wonder that they remind me of little sunflower seeds—-the word “PIP” actually means a small seed in a fruit such as an apple or lemon! Crafted by Preciosa, these pretty 5x7mm petal-shaped beads are perfect for creating floral designs. String a number of them in a circle to create flower-shaped components for bracelets or earrings. Use them in a fun fringe border, as Abigail Myer did in her Pip Pip Hooray Bracelet, published in the December 2016/January 2017 issue of Beadwork magazine.

Or string them together for a fun interlocking zipper effect! Pip beads are available in a wide range of colors at your favorite bead retailer.

Happy Beading!
