I recently went on a cross country roadtrip that provided me with endless inspiration for new beads. I saw some rocks at the Grand Canyon that are a soft, buttery, almost matte off white unlike anything I've ever seen. My interpretation of these rocks appears in the top of this pendant, for which I created a crackle effect with off while and pearl white acrylic paint over brown polymer clay. I then impressed the clay with a texture inked with gold and added some peachy-pink with alcohol inks. The bottom of the pendant is textured with a leaf pattern that I colored with mica powders, after which I highlighted the texture with gold stamping ink. The antique button is, to me, the perfect compliment to the piece. I had a hard time not keeping this one for myself.
