NaSeBeMo: It's Time For National Seed Beading Month Again!

Every November, writers around the country (and even around the world!) participate in NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. Beginning on November 1, the challenge is to write every day with a goal of writing 50,000 words before midnight on November 30. It's a great way to motivate yourself to reach a goal, and a few years ago, my bead buddy Dulcey Heller wondered what would happen if we did a NaSeBeMo — National Seed Beading Month!

You don't have to count out 50,000 beads to participate. Just pick out a couple of projects that have been on your to-bead list for a while, or choose a couple of UFOs from your work table (we all have them!), and make a commitment to yourself and to your beads that you will find some time every day – even if it's just ten or fifteen minutes – to sit down and do some bead-weaving.

I'll be posting weekly updates here on Beading Daily, and I thought it might be fun to do a blog hop for anyone else who might be interested in participating so we can all cheer each other on! All you have to do is post a link to your blog in the comments of my weekly updates, and share your pictures and progress as you bead your way through November.

First up on my list of UFOs is a big bead embroidered collar using a ceramic face that I started over a year ago, followed by a second bead embroidered necklace that has been begging me to make a neckstrap for it. After that, who knows? I've got a bead embroidered cuff bracelet and collar made with glass spike beads and a fake "fur" trim that have been patiently waiting their turn on my work table for a little love, and I've got a whole bag full of cabochon projects that have been piling up with the idea that I'm going to write a book about how to bezel and use cabochons in bead-weaving. I've got lots of beading projects to motivate me!

What's on your work table that you've been wanting to work on? Join us for NaSeBeMo this November! Bead a little, every day!

Bead Happy,
