Mid-Atlantic Bead Hop with Main Line Bead Society
The Main Line Bead Society is presenting its first Mid-Atlantic Bead Hop sponsored by Beadalon Saturday, September 21, through Sunday, October 13. You’ll have the chance to find beading treasures, win prizes, and absorb new inspiration at every shop. Going on a shop hop is a fun excuse to visit your favorite beading destinations and the ones you haven’t yet discovered.
The Main Line Bead Society established the Bead Hop this year to create excitement in the beading community, support small bead shops, and create interest in beading. MLBS Co-Presidents Geri Goebel and Bobbi Butler say, “Keep an eye out for designers such as Mary Soucy, Gina Struebel, Alexandra Sydorenko, Donna Dickt, Diane Dennis, Edwin Batres, Edgar Lopez, and more teaching at select stores during the Hop.”
During the event, 17 participating bead stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia are celebrating beading. Many of the stores are posting their demos and classes on Facebook, so you can get a taste of what you’ll experience during the Bead Hop.
Join the Bead Hop
To participate in the Bead Hop, purchase a $20 bundle at one of the participating shops. A bundle contains a Passport for the Bead Hop, a swag bag with Beadalon goodies, a map indicating participating store locations; raffle tickets for each store’s raffle basket; and exclusive discounts for each store.
Each shop will have a raffle basket with at least $100 worth of merchandise. You can enter to win one at every stop. Plus, there will be a grand prize drawing at the end of the Bead Hop based on how many stores you visit. Get your passport stamped at each shop. If you obtain four stamps, you’ll have a chance to win $150. Collect seven stamps for a chance to win $150 or $350. Get 10 stamps and be entered to win $150, $350, or $500 in gift cards from the participating store of your choice.
Yvette Ricard, Beadalon Event Manager & Marketing Coordinator says, “We’re very excited to sponsor the first Mid-Atlantic Bead Hop presented by the Main Line Bead Society. They are our local bead society, and when they approached us with the idea of organizing a bead hop to help support the local bead stores, we immediately agreed. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the enthusiasm we’ve seen so far with the store owners and local customers alike. The workshops, raffles and demos that we’re going to provide in-store also add to the excitement.”
