Mammoth Ivory centered on Coordinating Beads
This mammoth ivory pendant which I collected in Alaska, where there is quite a bit of this 10,000-year-old material, has a fascinating shape and markings that make it perfect as a necklace centerpiece. It kind of reminds me of a fox head. The double supporting strands contain a mix of antique and new beads, including African bauxite cylinders and vintage peanut-tree faceted rounds. I used solid copper for a toggle clasp. You can see many of my designs at http://beadsbymail.com .
