Make This Leather Bracelet then Sparkle and Bling!

Leather is on trend and seems to have a real hold on the fashion and accessories world. I had a lot of fun pulling together some of our most popular leather bracelets for our FREE “How to Make Leather Bracelets” and am happy to bring it to you during the “season of bracelets.” To add to the mix, here is a quick leather bracelet idea for you.

  • (2) 4 ½” lengths of leather lace
  • (1) 5” length cable chain
  • (1) 4 ½” length Swarovski 27001 Rhinestone Chain PP 24 CATCH FREE
  • (1) silver round link
  • (5) 6mm round 16gauge jump rings
  • (1) 8mm 16-gauge jump ring
  • (5) oval 16-gauge jump rings
  • (1) ball tip headpin
  • (1) Swarovski double spike bead (5747), 12x6mm, crystal AB
  • (1) Swarovski crystal spike pendant, 18mm, crystal AB
  • (4) cup-chain findings, 24pp
  • (1) lobster clasp
  • ODX or other cleaner
  • Adhesive –two-part epoxy
  • Flat-nose pliers
  • Chain-nose pliers

Step 1: Place the 2 lengths of leather together, right sides facing out. Place 2 matched-up ends into a cup-chain finding, with the face of the finding facing the same way as the front of the leather. Secure the cup-chain finding by compressing the prongs toward the leather.

Clean the face of the cup-chain finding with ODX. Apply a dab of adhesive onto the face of the cup-chain finding; place a flatback.

Repeat adding a cup-chain finding on the other ends of the leather cording. Allow the adhesive to cure. If needed, trim the leather ends if they block the cup-chain finding opening.

Step 2: Add a cup-chain finding to the last crystal in the cup chain. Secure the cup-chain finding by compressing the prongs toward the face of the crystal.

Step 3: Using a 6mm jump ring, gather a cup-chain finding on one end of the leather cording, a cup-chain finding on one end of the cup chain, the last link on one end of the length of chain and the loop in the lobster clasp.

Step 4: Repeat Step 3, gathering the second end of each length of material as well as the silver link. Add two oval jump rings to the other side of the link work as the clasp loop.

Step 5. Add a spike bead to a headpin and finish with a wrapped loop. Add an 8mm jump ring to the spike pendant, then add an oval jump ring to the 8mm round jump ring.

Step 6: Add a jump ring to the double spike bead drop. Use a jump ring to gather the two crystal drops together. Add another jump ring to this collection and add it to the link to complete the bracelet.
