Kristal Wick's Bon Voyage Giveaway!

It's time for this beady gal to set sail! I am leaving Interweave as the Beading Daily editor. It's been more than delightful sharing our morning coffee each day, dishing all things beady, and I thank all my beady peeps for joining in. We've laughed (a lot), shared great stories, and beady tips with each other. I'm grateful for each and every one of you who shared in this passion we call beading. To show how much I'll miss you all, I'm passing on some beady love: here's my last Beading Daily Giveaway!

Most of you followed along on my recent trip to NYC and the Martha Stewart Show this month with my BFF Linda Hartung and WireLace. Besides meeting Martha and her awesome crafting talent and producers, I got to visit a couple of very special beadalicious lairs in the Big Apple, and they graciously gave me some FAB goodies to share with you!

Linda & I with boxes of vintage Swarovski Vintage lucite and pearls galore

Authentic trade beads from

Secret Beadtopia Warehouse!
16 West 36th St., 2nd Fl., New York, NY 10018  (212) 224-1400

I promised you all I would give out the secret warehouse address and contact #411. Here it is!

CJS was amazing and is a MUST STOP on your NYC visit. Having been a long-kept secret by jewelry designers everywhere, I simply have to spill the beads with you (as it were). Room after room of bins and boxes from floor to ceiling of vintage chain, pearls, seed beads, and my personal favorite, original boxes of vintage Swarovski elements. Elyse Schimel and her father, Carl, have been here for many years and were so kind as to give me a tour, loads of historic info on the gems they had there, and shopping tips. Their warehouse is only open to the trade, meaning you have to be a wholesaler and get qualified through them to come and shop. But they do enjoy working with up-and-coming designers as well. Wear your jeans and prepare to dive deeply for those treasures! The giveaway goodies are all from Europe in the 1920s. I will forever carve out half a day there every time I visit. You simple cannot find some of these vintage goodies anymore!

All That Glitters
Tinsel Trading Company
1 West 37th St. New York, NY 10018  (212) 730-1030

One of my vintage dreams, long on my bucket list was this utopia. I'd seen Martha Stewart visit TTC on her show for years and dreamed of someday . . . I was lucky enough to chat with owner Marsha Ceppos, and she graciously gave me pretty spools of vintage silk ribbon to share with you all! TTC was started by her grandfather, and the history of the company is fascinating. Read more about it on their website: Filled with authentic vintage goodies such as glass glitter from Germany, get lost in rows of trims, silk flowers, tassels, ribbons, handmade paper, buttons, and endless embellishments for your jewelry making, quilts, and mixed-media art fill this treasure trove of a shop, and I'm not embarrassed to say I had to buy an extra suitcase to bring all my treasures home!
