Jewelry Stringing, Jewelry Making, Beading Daily – 36 Jewelry-Making Techniques

What happens when you take metal, beads, resin, leather, wire, and more beads, then put them all together? I can think of a lot of things, actually, but in this story it leads us to the new BeadingDaily Jewelry Special Issue!

What a great issue Debbie Blair, editor of Jewelry Stringing magazine, put together. She combined 33 jewelry-making projects spanning so many wonderful materials and techniques (there’s 36 different jewelry–making techniques listed!), which really represents us, the BeadingDaily community.

This issue holds so many wonderful ideas and tremendous amounts of inspiration. And not only will you find jewelry-making projects there are also seed bead designs. Don’t worry, if you’re new to seed beads, also included in the issue is a Quick-Start Guide to Seed Beads & Seed Beading, which will be a great jumpstart or good refresher if it’s been a while.

Check out some of the highlights then hold on as you see all the projects the issue holds!  First up is this special project, Finger Bling Ring, designed by a dear friend of mine, Sandra Lupo.

Sandra had so much fun putting this design together and making it a great foray into metal working as well as packing a lot of sparkle in the form of a Swarovski rivoli.  This design might seem complicated, and rings can sometimes be intimidating to make, but with a few tools and materials, you too can be wearing one of these beauties. To make it even easier, the materials for this ring are available in a kit (with limited quantity).

Buddhist Temple by Lorelei Eurto combines colorful fiber-wrapped wire and leather cording in this charm bracelet.

Cherry Blossom by Candie Cooper brings a feminine touch and sparkle to any outfit.

While talking about color, check out the Kaleidoscope Earrings by Fran Valera. These lightweight and waterproof earrings are made by coating images with resin.

Another resin design is this Nautilus Ring Set by Becky Nunn. Becky combines silicone putty and epoxy clay then finished it with colored resin to create this beautiful design.

No matter which way your muse takes you, this issue is jam packed with lots of inspiring designs. Cheers to Debbie, again, and here’s to us, the BeadingDaily community. We are clearly a wonderful amalgamation of color, sparkle, techniques, and fun!

I’d love to hear which design you like best from this issue, and which one you’ll try as a new adventure for yourself. Please leave a comment at BeadingDaily.com!

Yours creatively,
