Happy Holidays from Jewelry Stringing!

Well, it's our last post before the holidays. The Jewelry Stringing team will be taking next week off in order to celebrate the season with our families and loved ones. For me, this means driving to my parents' home in Wisconsin with my husband and 100-pound puppy dog, who has grown so much since the first Christmas he spent with us three years ago (see photo). I'm looking forward to walks through snowy parks, brandy alexanders, and visits with friends I haven't seen in over a year. Here's what the rest of the team is up to. Do you have any special plans?

Debbie Blair (Managing Editor): All of my favorite holiday moments each year take place on Christmas Eve. I’m most looking forward to Christmas Eve services at my church, specifically near the end of the service when all of the lights are dimmed, each person lights their candle from the person next to them, and the mass of people sings “Silent Night.” I also love baking cookies with my four-year-old and setting them out for Santa, then having her take a peek on Christmas morning to see how many he ate!

Chloe Chatenever (Assistant Editor): The holidays are always full of crafts for my family. Whether we are dipping beeswax candles, folding paper star ornaments, or needle felting, we all like having something fun to do with our hands while we visit and catch up. The time that we spend making things together is always what I look forward to the most every year. Over Thanksgiving, my mom and aunts were admiring a pair of earrings I made, so I ordered enough materials to teach them all how to make their own when I see them at Christmas!

Kate Wilson (Project Editor): I’m most looking forward to spending time with my Dad, brother, nephews, cousins, and the rest of my family—we have a large family, and it’s fun to watch everyone playfully banter back and forth over a table full of food.
