Mysterious Amulets

I’m always wowed by Stephanie Sersich’s fun, colorful lampworked glass and this talisman pendant really caught my eye. You can wear it now for fright night and wear it year-round, too. Stephanie also makes twisty noodles, striped beads, cheerful birds, and other one-of-a-kind whimsies. I follow her Facebook and Instagram feeds to get first choice when she releases new seasonal collections.

Stay Cozy

You can’t go wrong with a comfy sweater, your favorite cold weather coffee drink, and a selection of festive seed beads. This seed bead mix hits all the right notes and will make a lovely color palette for your next beadwork project. I’m thinking of peyote stitch seed beaded hoops, or maybe some long, fringed earrings. Color mixes like these always ignite my creativity.

Charming Creepy Crawlies

Although spiders can be spooky when they creep out from their hiding places, you must admire their resourcefulness! I’ve come to appreciate the magic of seeing a hairy tarantula outside its burrow after a rare desert rain. Plus, some people believe a tarantula sighting is a reminder to be patient and look at things from a different perspective. Either way, this sterling silver charm is a little bit spooky and quite beautiful.

Mixed Metal Talismans

These evil eye charms are great for making layered pendant necklaces, eye-catching earrings, and charm bracelets. Evil Eye charms are said to keep away any misfortune that could come your way from someone casting you a real evil eye, so they’re perfect for spooky Halloween activities. The antique silver, copper, and brass tones are perfect with fall color palettes.

October’s Birthstone

Tourmaline is one of October’s birthstones and, coincidentally, one of its variations is a lustrous black color perfect for spooky season. While any black stone is believed to have protective qualities, black tourmaline is also a grounding stone. Stitch a beaded rope for a tourmaline pendant or learn how to use tourmaline beads to knot gemstone mala beads.

Spooky Silhouettes

Laser-engraved wood beading supplies are popular and widely available. In addition to wooden organizers and other tools, there are artistic, lightweight, and inexpensive charms and pendants in every theme. This little kitty skeleton charm is spooky and cute all at once! Plus, you can paint, ink, or color the engraved portion to match your beads.

Fright Night Inspiration
