Name the Earrings Challenge: Beadwork Magazine Oct/Nov 2016

The Name the Earrings challenge is on!

Blueberry Cove Beads has put together a beautiful, light and airy kit for the October/November 2016 Beadwork “Name the Earrings Challenge.” The kit includes: seed, pearl, ceramic, porcelain, stone, and lampwork beads and some sweet charms.

THE RULES: We use our favorites from the materials provided and, where necessary, round out projects with our own supplies.

Megan Lenhausen, project editor Beadwork magazine, designed the earrings we need to choose a name for. These are so beautiful and just call out “wear me to dinner tonight!”

Name the Earrings Challenge design by Megan Lenhausen

Megan shares: “I’m naturally drawn to large statement earrings, specifically with a teardrop shape. With that in mind, I took advantage of the painted drop’s silhouette by joining a cubic–right angle-weave strip to mimic the shape. I used light purple FireLine thread to stitch the strip, adding a subtle pop of color peeking through the pale green seed beads. The prized drop dangles in the center of the earring, and I embellished each earring with a mixture of rounds, intentionally placed for an ombré effect.”
