Create a Shimmering Garden of Beaded Glass Flowers

Erin Prais-Hintz's Shimmering Garden

We had our first hint of snow here in Northern Colorado yesterday, and most of us in the Interweave office exclaimed a collective “Noooo!” Luckily the snow didn’t stick, and we’re heading back into unseasonably warm weather again later this week. But I can’t help thinking about winter’s inevitable arrival—and how anxious I will be for spring by the time it rolls around again.

If you’re also longing for warmer weather and spring flowers, you should check out Erin Prais-Hintz’s “Shimmering Garden” video. In this video, Erin teaches you how to work with glass beads and craft wire to create gorgeous flower components, then combine those glass “blooms” into a variety of jewelry pieces.

These glass jewels, inspired by antique glass brooches and other jewelry, give a modern twist to a beautiful vintage look. Erin’s clear instructions are perfect for those who are new to wire working, and the finished project will appeal to both novices and seasoned jewelry artists.
