Chic Upcycled Jewelry Ideas

I love upcycling, or finding new uses for old items. For example, I have several printed shirts that I’ve been hanging onto for several years because, although they’ve gone out of the style, the colorful floral print on them is just too pretty to throw out. I knew I could make something fun with them, but I didn’t have any inspiration.

Keiko Sakamoto’s DIY Wrap Bracelets is filled with great ideas to upcycle those items that have been hanging around your house waiting to be given new life. I found the perfect way to reuse my pretty printed shirts: they’ll soon adorn my wrist as a braided fabric bracelet just like the one below!

This book also demonstrates some chic, simple projects to use up leftover beads.  I keep all of the leftover beads from my beadweaving and stringing projects, and this is such a cute stash-buster! I can’t wait to make this bracelet with two-hole square beads!
