Bling in the New Year with New eBooks

It's been a fabulous year full of jewelry-making here on Beading Daily, and as I prepare for a fun New Years Eve with friends, I can't help but reflect on all that I've received from Beading Daily this year. I know, I know- I'm the one who's supposed to be delivering great beady how-to's to YOU-but your flood of posts on the BeadingDaily.com, forum, the Beading Daily facebook fan page, and your stream of e-mails constantly inspire and move me! Whether it's the beautiful work you all continue to post in the reader showcase, or your personal stories about what compels you to make jewelry, your feedback is what really makes this all worthwhile. I'm thankful to be a part of such a creative and supportive community, and this evening I will raise a glass to all you as I sing Auld Lang Syne (and bead of course)!
So my plans tonight are set, as I'm sure most of yours are as well, but beyond the party, what's next? Tomorrow morning means the start of a new year of creative challenges, and of course, a clean slate for trying new things. It also means a day full of guys watching football games, so what better time to tackle a new jewelry project?
One thing I've seen on lots of jewelry-makers' to-do lists for 2011 is to tackle more metal and wire work, and my list is the same. Beading means lots of things to different people, but whether you weave them, string them, or drop them onto headpins and wire them to chains, you're still a part of our big bead family. And I've found that even when I'm working in one medium, I'll still find inspiration in work in others-the composition of a strung piece can give me ideas for things to do with a bead stitched piece, and vice versa.
In a recent quest for inspiration, my friends a couple desks over here in the office turned me on to a few of our new Best of Stringing eBooks- Pendants, Modern Vintage, and Colorful Glass Beads. Looking through these has given me some great ideas that I plan on using in my own jewelry, and I wanted to share a couple of them with you.
