Beads, Baubles & Jewels: Kicking off Season 2700
Exciting news: Beads, Baubles & Jewels is recording Season 2700 this October! More exciting news: Interweave is a sponsor and I’m thrilled to be representing the company in some of the segments. Being part of this program is an honor and it’s always a good time. Most of all, though, I’m really looking forward to bringing techniques to life for you.
As we rolled out Beads, Baubles & Jewels Season 2600, many asked for specific techniques to be shown in the next season. We are happy to say, “yes we can!” Even more of you asked how the process works before getting to the studio. Here’s a little inside peek at how this goes for me.
The excitement begins when we sit down to determine trends with Kathie Stull, the producer of Beads, Baubles & Jewels. We then pair the concepts and techniques with her theme for each show. Once we have these pieces in order, I get to brainstorm concepts with the host, Katie Hacker, who always brings a fresh perspective and a bright smile to fill the room.
The excitement builds as new projects take shape. I work through the techniques, determine tips, ideas, and develop new designs that I believe will inspire you. There’s nothing like working through an idea from concept to reality, seeing it come to life, and then feeling like it really hits the mark. It doesn’t always work out, so it feels good when it finally does!
In addition to some new ideas, we will also be dusting off techniques that we’ve covered before — bringing a fresh look and approach. This includes metal clay, chain making, and enameling. Other techniques we’ll cover include looming with fibers, adding texture to metal, and the hot new stitch Peyote with a Twist!
Beads, Baubles & Jewels Season 2700 has a lot in store. Be sure to stay tuned in–we’ll bring you highlights as the series becomes available (early 2019). Meanwhile, don’t miss all the current season has to offer. Season 2600 highlights can be found on our Beads, Baubles & Jewels page and all the episodes are available in an easy download or convenient DVD.
I’m off to finish packing!
