Top Beaded Jewelry Trends for Fall 2023
Shifting weather signals a shift in trends! Beaded jewelry trends tend to stick around for a while and even when they aren’t “trending,” these bead pieces will still be fashionable to wear. After countless hours scrolling through Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and various popular fashion sites, I’ve rounded up a few beaded jewelry trends for fall 2023 that I don’t see disappearing anytime soon.

Beaded Bags
Beaded bags remind me of those that were popular when I was a child, so I am happy to see them on trend again. These bags can add some flair to a simple outfit and elevate it. I have seen these bags made up of seed beads, wooden beads, and even faceted plastic beads. This trend takes patience to make, but the end result is worth the time spent stitching.

Bead Embroidery
Bead embroidery never goes out of style in the beading world, but it’s no longer difficult to find garments with beaded accents. While I most often see bead embroidery adorning beautiful earrings, brooches, and bracelets, I now see it on jeans, dresses, bags, and accessories. The beadwork on these items tends to be applied with a far lighter touch than that in the jewelry and art it appears in, and just adds a bit of shine to a piece. If you have a basic item that is just hanging in your closet, try adding beads for a fun touch!
I have been seeing more and more earrings that are made using bead embroidery. These works of art can have lots of texture with many differently shaped beads, or they can consist of seed beads. Keep the earrings simple with simple beaded embroidery or make a fun design with lots of detail.

Coastal Inspired
Beaches are not exclusive to summer! Coastal jewelry has been popular for some time, but certain elements stick out that can be made to wear all year long. Freshwater pearls and seaglass beads make this trend a classic, year-round. Combine natural stones with gold seed beads to elevate the natural look. Shell beads or pendants for necklaces add a layer of fun to this trend.

Mix and Match
Do you have extra beads laying around? Now may be their time to shine! Sometimes mismatching can be a good look. There has been a lot of mixing and matching in strung beaded jewelry recently. We saw it last year with daisy chains and pearls, and while those are still popular, it’s bright colors of beads and classic freshwater pearls that are highlighted in the current iteration of this trend. While these are the popular combinations, this trend can work with whatever contrasting beads are in your arsenal. Play around with color and texture in this easy-going trend!

Charming
This next trend can be combined with the mismatch trend or can be kept simple depending on the style you want. Vintage charms have been popular over the past year, especially brass heart lockets. Vintage charms are often combined with pearls or natural stones that are simply strung. A metal closure is often positioned at the front with the closure holding the charm. If you don’t want the closure in the front, use a vintage charm as a sort of center pendant that pays homage to this trend, or have several charms hanging from one strand!

Some trends require a bit more effort, but are worth it!
