The 2022 Pantone Color of the Year is Very Peri, which is a rich shade of periwinkle. Pantone chose periwinkle because “We are going through transformative times. Very Peri helps us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, opening us up to a new vision as we rewrite our lives.” It’s a hopeful choice for the coming year–and for beaded jewelry!

Leatrice Eiseman heads the Eiseman Center for Color Information and Training and is the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, the color-trend forecasting department of Pantone. To choose the Color of the Year, Leatrice says, “We look at the world of entertainment, art, fashion and beauty, technology, socioeconomic issues, lifestyles, and playstyles. Most importantly, we look to the relationship between trends in color and what is taking place in our global culture at a moment in time, a color that reflects what individuals feel they need that color can hope to answer.”
