Christmas Runner by Deborah Dobbs
This runner was a winner in Handwoven’s 1986 “Keep It Simple” contest. In a variation of double weave on four shafts, the runner shows squares in two shades of red framed in dark green.

Overshot Christmas Runner and Ornament by Anne Sneary
Overshot motifs on four shafts are centered in blocks of red, green, or a mixture of both. A white silk pattern weft adds a festive accent.

A Sachet for a Friend by Jane Patrick
A lattice treadling on a 4-shaft huck threading creates the fabric for these sachets. One-shuttle weaving and easy construction makes them quick to make for holiday gifts.

Fulled Christmas-Tree Skirt by Anne Sneary
This hexagonal tree skirt is cut from a rectangular strip of fabric patterned in 4-shaft twill and fulled for a soft drape.

Christmas Cookie Basket by Nancy D’Angelo
The 4-shaft twill fabric for this basket is stiffened with a layer of needlepoint canvas. Unfasten the corner ties, and the basket lies flat for storage between holidays.

Heirloom Pillow Cases by Sharon Alderman
These instructions are for two completely different pillowcases: His and Hers. His is woven in 2-block twill on eight shafts or a Dornic twill on four; Hers is a variation of plain weave that adds a bit of texture to the surface. Both are woven in very fine cotton.

Christmas Boots or Ski Boots
by Jean Scorgie
These boundweave boots on a 4-shaft rosepath threading are shaped on the loom. The pieces are joined by needleweaving the fringe; the soles are crocheted.

Christmas Stockings in Summer and Winter by Mary Bentley
These stockings are woven in summer and winter on eight shafts. Instructions are included for weaving the names of your own family members in addition to the Santa, angel, tree, snowman, and dog motifs.

Christmas Stockings in Twill and Overshot by Barbara Eychaner
Project instructions are for two completely different stockings, one in a striped twill and the other in overshot, both on four shafts. The twill stocking includes a cross-stitched cuff.

Cross-Stitch Pillow and Greeting Card by Manuela Kaulitz
The designs in this pillow and holiday cards are cross-stitched—on the loom! The ground fabric is simple plain weave. Directions are given for weaving all the motifs and for both card and pillow assembly.

Christmas Vest by Yvonne Stahl
The many motifs in this festive vest are woven loom-controlled on an 8-shaft rosepath threading.

Candy Cane Countdown by Valerie Musselman
Here’s a clever idea for helping a child count the days until Christmas (or a birthday, Halloween, or the first day of school): weave something delicious into a plain-weave warp-faced band.

Advent Calendar by Linda Barr
The boxes attached to this handwoven band are covered in a second fabric decorated with motifs woven on an 8-shaft rosepath threading. The boxes can be filled with candy, gum, coins, or small toys.

Celebration Vest by Lynn Lesselroth
The woven motifs in this vest are in 4-shaft overshot inlay. Instructions include designing your own vest, placing and weaving the inlay, and adding embellishments with couching and other techniques.

Monk’s Belt Holiday Runner by Janis Blomgren Aune
The monk’s belt pattern in this runner is in the warp instead of the weft. The result is a one-shuttle weave on four shafts and a striking lengthwise border.
Huck Lace Ornament by Susan Leschke
These little ornaments are quick to weave on eight shafts and make great decorations for holiday packages as well as ornaments for the tree.
