Description
Handpainted sock yarn has traditionally been made from wool, but new fibers like bamboo, Tencel, and soy are revolutionizing the options available to the sock knitter. These cuffed socks show off the sheen of a merino/Tencel blend, and the shorter style and cooler fiber blend make these the perfect option for warm weather
Finished Size: Sock measures about 6W (7, 7V, 8)” (16 [18, 19, 20.5] cm) foot circumference and about 8V (9, 9V, 10)” (21.5 [23, 24, 25.5] cm) from back of heel to tip of toe.
Yarn: Fingering weight (#1 Super Fine). Shown here: Blue Moon Seduction (50% merino wool, 50% Tencel; 400 yd [366 m]/ 113 g): algae, 1 skein
Needles: Lace cuff-U.S. size 1 (2.25 mm): set of 4 double-pointed (dpn). Stockinette section- U.S. size 3 (2.75 mm): set of 4 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge
Notions: Markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge: 16 stitches and 22 rounds = 2″ (5 cm) in stockinette stitch worked in the round on larger needles; 12 stitches and 28 rounds = 2″ (5 cm) in patt worked in the round on smaller needles.
