Get ready to look at jewelry findings in a whole new way!
Uncover unexpected and stylish ways to showcase jewelry findings as centerpieces in a variety of inspiring jewelry projects in Unexpected Findings: 50+ Clever Jewelry Designs Featuring Everyday Components, a must-have book by Michelle Mach.
Together with ten of the jewelry community's most popular designers - Lorelei Eurto, Jamie Hogsett, Denise Yezbak Moore, Erin Prais-Hintz, Molly Schaller, Erin Siegel, Erin Strother, Barb Switzer, Andrew Thorton and Cindy Wimmer - Michelle takes a nontraditional look at everyday jewelry findings and discovers creative, innovative ways to use them. As you flip through the more than 50 projects in Unexpected Findings, you're sure to say, "That's so clever!" time and again. You'll learn how bead frames become connectors; toggle clasps become pendants; filigree can be rolled to create tube beads or bails; and so much more. Glean great tips for modifying commercial findings with patinas, beads, hammering, and painting too. Designs include necklaces, bracelet, and earrings, some of which can be taken apart and reassembled to become different pieces of jewelry.
No matter your skill level, you'll fall in love with uncovering new ways to use these often overlooked elements. Leather, buttons, filigree, eye pins, washers, and other components can easily become fashionable jewelry designs with basic jewelry making techniques like stringing, wirework and basic metalsmithing.
With Unexpected Findings, you'll never look at jewelry findings the same way again! The possibilities are endless.

- I have been an artist, writer, editor, publisher for 50 years. This is the most horrible book I have ever seen. It lists the ingredients, but never tells you just how to cook them into something edible...even the short hype video shows me more about how the findings can be made into something usable.
