Description
The rugged Traverse Mitts are simple gauntlets featuring a striking central cable. Worked in the round in sportweight yarn, these mitts will keep your hands warm without limiting movement as you stack firewood or hang Christmas lights.
Sizes: 5 (5½, 6)" circumference and 7½ (7½, 8¾)" long. Mitts shown measure 6" (see Notes).
Yarn: Harrisville Designs flyWHEEL (100% pure virgin wool; 170 yd [115 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): #969 granite, 1 skein (see Notes).
Needles: Size 4 (3.5 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holder; tapestry needle.
Gauge: 28 sts and 30 rnds = 4" in k2, p2 rib (unstretched); Cable panel = about 2" wide.
