Dark patinas are not new by any means, but their popularity has resurfaced with a vengeance. Here is a fairly easy technique to add a rich, black patina to your silver jewelry by using liver of sulfur that you can complete in less than half an hour.
Required Material:
Liver of sulfur nuggets
2 ceramic bowls
stirring stick
toaster tongs, just something you don't mind blackening with which you can hold the piece
electric kettle or some means of heating water
a nearby faucet or other running water source
jewelry brass brush
dish detergent
fine needle file
0000 steel wool
A soft, nonabrasive cloth
Renaissance wax
cotton swabs
needle files
4X steel wool
gun cleaning swabs
