Spacer 15x15 pixelsWith a hip-hugging lowered waistline and curved-seam side panels, these red hot pants are sure to turn heads! Pair them with a loose top and ballet flats for day, or strappy heels for a night out. Either way you’ll be ready to paint the town red.


FABRIC

  • Main: Light- to medium-weight woven fabrics in cotton, linen, cotton/linen blends, and woven fabrics with up to 4% Lycra/spandex.

  • Templates:
    • Front (A)
    • Back (B)
    • Side Panel (C)
    • Front Facing (D)
    • Back Facing (E)
  • ¼ yd lightweight fusible interfacing (match weight to fabric)
  • 7" invisible zipper in color to match fabric
  • Zipper foot
  • Thread to match fabric
  • Scissors or rotary cutter, and self-healing mat
  • Straight pins
  • Optional: Pattern weights

NOTES

  • All seam allowances are ½". Hem is 1"
  • Finished garment should sit just below natural waist in back and approximately 2" below navel in front. Pants are close fitting but should have enough ease to enable sitting and bending over comfortably.
  • Serge or zigzag all raw edges.
  • Press all seams open unless otherwise indicated.
  • Finished garment should be hemmed to ankle.
  • For best fit, make a muslin first and adjust pattern as necessary.
  • Transfer all markings onto wrong side of fabric.
