- charming teacher, nice blanket, but too little actually useful content
I find the description of the video to be quite misleading.
The planning part is okay. We learn about which color values to look for and get a few tips like making sure that the colors don't bleed and to look for a tighter gauge. Still I feel it's lacking a little, for example there's no suggestion on what kind of cast-on to use.The description makes it sound like there would be more to it.
Mastering the best methods to edge and finish projects sounds like there would be some options but there is one method which is very briefly explained and that's it. The teacher doesn't even give tips on what bind-off would be best to use with the blanket pattern.
We also don't actually learn how to knit the chain, tweed, and hexagon stitches but she "deconstructs" them which means we are looking at swatches and are having the teacher talk a bit about the stitches and their construction and that's about it.
There's not even a pattern for these and if you're really a beginner you will not be able to knit these stitches afterwards.
The pattern that actually comes with the class is only written, not charted.
You don't learn anything about mosaic knitting charts at all so you can't pick up a charted stitch dictionary after this class and knit away.
The teacher is really charming and engaging and tells a lot of nice anecdotes and fun background stories but I would have preferred to learn how to use mosaic knitting charts and how to actually knit the stitches (or to at least get the patterns). (Posted on 11/29/2015)
