|Free-Form Overshot Mermaid Scarf
Pattern included in the Handwoven Nov/Dec Issue
Weave this water-themed scarf with large spirals using a rigid-heddle loom. Rather than weaving in twills, use overshot! Overshot cloth uses a thicker weft for pattern floats alternating with thinner tabby picks that stabilize the web. Finally, use a pick-up stick to finish the spiral designs.

I was disappointed, as I am new at weaving and was expecting good instructions, including a set up graph and weaving graph.. The very small graph provided as part of a magazine was not satisfactory. I purchased at 4shaft loom and was hoping that there would be instructions on how to set this up. But I will have a go at weaving on scrap wool before using the beautiful wool that came in the kit.
This project is intended to be a free form project. The instructions given are basic and designed for you to use your creativity with your weaving. (Posted on 9/12/2016)
