Shapes and hues of midcentury handbags inspired this project. Colored patchwork panels allow for the use of remnants, making it an economical project for sewists interested in learning to work with leather.
Finished Size: 11 1/2" x 14" x 4"
Fabric: Main: Approximately 4 sq. ft. leather; Contrast: Pieces at least 4" x 5" for six small patches, and 5" x 6" for six large patches; Lining: ¾ yd of coordinating solid, quilting-weight cotton (visible on the final bag)

- Walking foot
- Rotary cutter, self-healing mat, and clear acrylic ruler
- Glue (Bond 527 Multi-Purpose Cement or E6000 Adhesive, industrial strength)
- Jean-a-ma-jig tool (or folded square of fabric)
