good result, but problems to overcome
I am happy with the sweater, but errors in the pattern had to be overcome. The size specified in the diagram was did not match the calculation based on the gauge, but I didn't realize that until I became suspicious after seeing that the sweater was coming out significantly wider than expected. I was making the second size, which the diagram showed as 48 3/4" around the bottom. When I calculated the width based on the gauge and the number of stitches, it came out to 53.89", consistent with what I was producing. So I had to restart the sweater in the smallest size. The second problem was in the short row wrap-and-turn instructions, which said to slip the next stitch to the LH needle, wrap, and slip back to the LH needle (with slight variations depending on whether knitting or purling).
