Koolhaas Hat Knitting Pattern by Jared Flood

The architecture of Rem Koolhaas inspired the creation of this structured hat. A round, springy yak fiber yarn emphasizes the strong geometric structure and deeply sculptural quality of the twisted stitch pattern that covers the hat.

Finished Size: 16" head circumference and 7 (8)" tall. To fit a woman (man). Hat shown in woman's size.
Yarn: Shokay Yarn Shambala (100% yak; 164 yd [150 m]/100 g): cranberry, 1 skein.
Yarn weight: #4 - Medium
Gauge: 26 sts and 30 rows = 4" in lattice patt from chart on larger needle.
Needles: Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 8 (5 mm): 16" circular (cir). Size 8 (5 mm): set of 4 or 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Dots Blanket Knitting Pattern by Debbie O'Neill

The Dots Blanket can be modified to any size or to use any combination of colors. Designer Debbie O'Neill constructed the afghan out of individual squares, which are picked up and knit from each other—no sewing involved!

Finished Size: 32 (40, 48, 56)" wide and 40 (40, 60, 72)" long. Blanket shown measures 40" wide and 40" long.
Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (100% superwash wool; 220 yd [200 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #871 natural (MC), 7 (8, 14, 20) skeins; #1914 pale blue (CC1), 1 (2, 2, 3) skein(s); #1921 red (CC2), 1 (1, 1, 2) skein(s).

Beekeeper Slouch Knitting Pattern by Josie Mercier

Work the honeycomb band of the Beekeeper Slouch horizontally, then pick up the crown of the hat and work upward. The buttons are functional and close the brim.

Finished Size: 20 (22, 24)" circumference, buttoned. Hat shown measures 20".
Yarn: Plymouth Yarn Galway Worsted (100% pure wool; 210 yd [192 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #179 lemon zest, 1 (2, 2) ball(s).
Needles: Ribbing—size 5 (3.75 mm): straights. Brim and body—size 7 (4.5 mm): 16" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Leadville Cowl Knitting Pattern by Annie Watts

The super-cozy Leadville Cowl is worked as a tube, then cast-on and bind-off edges are seamed together. A lattice design adorns the outside of the cowl; ribbing lines the inside.

Finished Size: 25½" circumference and 8½" tall.
Yarn: The Fibre Company Tundra (60% baby alpaca, 30% merino wool, 10% silk; 120 yd [110 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): mink, 3 skeins. Yarn distributed by Kelbourne Woolens.
