Get Started Quilting with the easiest guide out there!
In the pages of Get Started Quilting, discover the skills and techniques to tackle any quilt with lessons that show you how surprisingly simple great quilted projects really are.
From choosing a color palette for your fabric to understanding how each of your tools work — even your sewing machine! — to all the ways to cut fabric and more, Get Started Quilting covers all the bases. Some of the techniques are traditional (English paper-piecing and Hawaiian applique), some are traditional-but-improved (no-waste flying geese and chain piecing), and some are modern quilting methods (slice-and-insert and improv stars), but all are achievable with step-by-step guidance.
Each technique you learn can be used to create an entire quilt, or mixed and matched to make a sampler quilt. The projects shown in Get Started Quilting range from fast-and-easy to projects you can really hone your skills on. From the first cut to the last binding stitch, this simple guide teaches you how to quilt from start to finish!

- Great for a complete novice
- I have started to quilt in retirement. I sewed quite a bit in high school and college, but had not touched a sewing machine since. I have a vision for what I want to produce, but ABSOLUTELY no experience. The book has been a great help in getting me started on my first small project (pillow cover). It's helping me to move forward with the basics -- cutting straight, 1/4 inch seems, machine quilting, assembly. Thank you! (Posted on 8/28/2015)
