- What fun!
This one really felt like a workshop, where I really wanted to get my hands dirty and join in. Her technique definitely changes the hand of the fabric, so if that matters to you, keep looking: this finished fabric is stiff as artist's canvas.
I like this new way of thinking, that there are no mistakes, only new ways of looking at what you've done. Still, some of what she ends up creating looks just like mud to me, and I don't really know if I'd feel good about it. Also, I think I'm more circumspect in my use of splattering than is Ms. Burke. But there is nothing like Permission To Make a Mess to get the creative juices going, and the inhibitions quieted. (Posted on 1/6/2014)
