- I was not a fan of filet crochet until I saw this shawlette. I bought the magazine just for this pattern and learned to filet crochet. It took about 40 hours of work to do this in cotton and it came out beautifully. Then, I did it in silk! The pattern was easy and I got the hang of it rather quickly. The only negative was that my size 10 cotton thread seemed thick, so I had to order size 8 seed beads online just to fit the thread. I get compliments on this whenever I wear this.
